Keep Your Eyes On Jesus

When we center our mind on Christ we understand that He is in control of everything.

There is a lot happening in the world these days, for this reason it might seem sensible to focus our attention on the turmoil around right?

The problem with concentrating on our problems and not on Jesus, is that when we do, we sink into the sea of our problems. The bible tells us about the disciples being in a furious storm on the sea. The fact that they were in a storm tells us that the wind didn’t suddenly become boisterous, the winds were contrary for some time.  Without considering the circumstances around him, Peter stepped out of the boat and began to walk on water.  It was only when he ‘saw’ the wind or when he began focusing on the conditions around him that he began to sink.

Similarly, it is when we ‘see’ what’s happening around us and neglect His presence, His voice and His leading that we descend in fear and doubt.   Matthew 14:30, But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

We don’t have control over most of what is happening around, however, we do have control over our  minds, over what we focus on, over our time, over how we handle the circumstances, over what we do each day.  Focusing on the right thing, on God, (through praying, reading the word, meditating and being a blessing to others), will result in peace that passes all understanding and boldness to do what you were designed to do.

When we center our mind on Christ we understand that He is in control of everything, and He is always working his purpose in our lives. Sometimes, giving God our full attention can be the most difficult thing in the world to do, because of our need to constantly be in control.  I mean, who will attend to, and worry about your issues if you don’t?  But when Peter’s focus was completely on Jesus, he was able to do something that he had never done before, he was able to walk on water.

Matthew 14:28-29 NLT,“Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.” THIS MY FRIEND IS “GOALS”

There is no telling what we will be bold enough to accomplish when our focus is steadfast and fastened on Christ.  So let us put all our confidence in him, let’s trust the process and keep our eyes on Him who is the author and finisher of our faith.

See you along the God directed path.

Be blessed.
