Father’s Day

A father is a man in relation to his child or children; A male parent.  Would you agree that these definitions are just not good enough?  Fatherhood is more than biological, any male can contribute to the production of an offspring, but it takes a man with special characteristics to be a father. Upon closer examination, a more thorough definition would be; Father- a man who is also a provider, protector, priest, problem solver, disciplinarian, teacher, leader, friend, advisor, role model, coach, the first love of a daughter, an unsonged superhero to a son; The heroes everyone respects.

Daddies, you are irreplaceable.  Thank you for your presence. You being there means the world to your children.  Your presence reassures; it reassures that everything will be fine, giving a sense of security, not only physically but also emotionally. It motivates; motivates to give of one’s best, causes confidence to soar, resulting in achievements beyond that which was ever thought possible. It teaches; teaches how to be responsible and to take responsibility for one’s actions, teaches the value of hard work, how to love unconditionally, how to fight for what one believes in, how to face challenges head-on, and how to value the things that matters the most. It embeds treasures, skills and resources within to navigate the complexities of life. You being there help your children to find their way.

Fathers your value is immeasurable. One hundred million words would fail to express the love and admiration that consume the hearts of those you father. Know that the sacrifices you make daily are not unnoticed. The stability you provide is recognized and valued. Your words of wisdom are lauded. Your capacity to fix everything is admired. Your ability to create adventures from everyday activities is treasured. Your pragmatic problem solving skills are commended. Your ability to keep it real one hundred percent  of the time is respected.  The high standards you set for yourself and your children are acknowledged and esteemed.  Your unwavering  love and dedication is honored and cherished. It’s a blessing to be able to call you dad.

Father we unequivocally declare that you are the best, the true definition of a Knight in Shining Armor.
