Cultivating peace

With all that is happening globally, plus other conflicts, problems, stresses, and trouble coming from all angles; It is no wonder why so many individuals’ hearts are failing for fear, depression and/ or anxiety. For these reasons it is of utmost importance that we look to our source – The Word /Jesus-; Especially when we recognize that we are in turmoil or heading for it. The source gives us peace. Peace that keeps us optimistic in the darkest of situations, He calls it the peace that passes all understanding.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].

Peace or peace of mind speaks to freedom from disturbance. It is a quiet calm state of mind free from frustrations, worries, and such the like. The Bible implores us not to be worried, but to allow the peace of God that passes understanding to keep our minds.

It is not God‘s will for us to be unstable and anxious. The Bible says that we should be anxious for nothing but with prayer and supplication let our request be known. What is it saying, simply we need to be constantly talking to Jesus, telling Him about what’s happening around and in with us. Then allow him to take control, having full assurance that He is able to handle our problems appropriately. Causing us to abide, in a place that is free from frustrations and worries, in peace.

God‘s ability to soothe our minds and take us to a place of total tranquility is incredible. What is important to note is that He can not act unless we allow Him to. We have to open up to His touch, His presence and His power to free us from disquieting thoughts. We can only experience genuine peace when we are totally dependent on Christ. So let us release Him to have His way in our lives and rain down His peace in our lives.

My Prayer

Lord, I surrender every area of my life to you. I pray that you will calm the storms of emotions that have flooded my heart and mind. You said that if I handed over my cares to You, then You’d give me peace that passes all understanding. I now ask you to take control of all of me. I claim your peace for today, as well as for all my tomorrows. I thank you for hearing and answering my prayers. In Jesus name amen.

See along the God directed path.

Be blessed
