It’s About Time

What is your most valuable currency? I’ll give you a minute to think about it. OK minute over, what did you come up with, The United States Dollar, USD?

What is your most valuable currency? I’ll give you a minute to think about it. OK minute over, what did you come up with, The United States Dollar, USD? Well, I put it to you that TIME is your most valuable currency. Why do I say this? Well, currency is an acceptable medium of exchange; and we “exchange” our time for wages or salary, entrepreneurial pursuits, building relationships, developing skills and talents, and/or entertainment etc.  All we do is bound up in time, so, a man without time is a dead man.

I have another question, what have you been doing with this currency of time? Have you been using it accurately? Are you a good steward of it?

I believe that we are given a certain amount of this special currency to accomplish God’s plan for our lives. Our time is therefore valuable.  This is so, not only because we don’t have an unlimited amount of it, but also because we can’t get it back once we’ve used it up, unlike the USD. This therefore means that how we use our time is of utmost importance.  Every moment is precious and demands that we are good stewards making the most of every day to fulfill the plan of God for our lives.

The scripture tells us in: ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.”

The scripture points to the fact that we need to live purposefully, and accurately and make the most of our time; But how can we do this unless we have insight from the maker of time and our creator, God, about how we should use the time He has given to us. The truth is, I can be busy everyday, giving up time for the things that satisfy me, but these things could very well be outside the scope of what God needs me to be doing.  As a result, I would not be using my time how God intended. I therefore need to ensure that I am connected to my creator about the plans that He has for me;  and use my most valuable currency to pursue, and take hold of the things that God planned for me on my journey.

The time we have is limited. More importantly, we don’t know how much of it God has blessed us with.  Consequently, we can’t afford not to use this currency wisely. We must ensure that our time counts. The good thing is  that the time that God gives us is the time that we need to fulfill the mandate that He has entrusted to us.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭90‬:‭12‬ ‭CEV‬‬ says;  “Teach us to use wisely all the time we have.” So let our constant prayer be:

Lord help us to use our time wisely on the God directed path.

Be blessed.
